December

My grandmother passed away two days ago.  She was the one grandparent with whom I had had the opportunity to create a truly salient relationship.  I will miss her more than I think I realize even now.  My family has gathered on the East Coast to discuss her estate and what is to be done with her "leftovers".  She was smart to communicate her wishes so logically.  I'm thankfully there won't be any petty squabbles surfacing.
I will be traveling to Berlin on the 27th.  I am very excited to get my mind off of the current situation and enjoy the company of friends for 10 days.  I've had 5 Stella Artois tonight.  Karl Lagerfeld is from Germany.  He was fat.  Now he's not.

I'm painting Karl right now in my room.  Fat physical features, skinny body I think...

From Apple to Zebra, to Pajamas

I'm still sick, but I went to one of my classes today to get a paper back.  The professor is really awesome and he's written some great stuff.  Check out his work on Amazon.com.  It deals with a lot of Time, Memory, Social Construction of Historical Continuity and Discontinuity.  Pretty interesting stuff.
P.S. I'd look awesome in this:

Introduction:
My name is Alexander Conner. I am a Senior at Rutgers University, double majoring in Sociology and Middle Eastern Studies. This June I plan to move to Philadelphia and try to support myself while continuing to build my visual arts portfolio for submission and exhibition purposes. Yeah, I'm going to be poor for a long time.

What this is for:
I'll post "works in progress" on the blog, interesting articles I find, and sweet links. Basically what every blog does. When it comes to pre-defined formats, I'll try to experiment so this doesn't get boring.

What I'm doing right now:
Laying in bed with a fever, hacking up phlegm all over my iBook. Bored.

Other:
This is my Beta Fish, "Algebra", no surname.
